Training Request

How to Request Operator Training

Use the enquiry form on our contact page and choose Training Request so we can match the session to your press, your media and your production needs. Sibusiso Mthembu and the support team will review your request and confirm the best format, whether you need a first-time operator session or a follow-up refresher for experienced staff.

When you send the request, include the number of operators, the materials you print on, and the problems you want to solve. That helps us prepare the right steps for loading boards, setting up jobs, checking colour and handling inks safely.

  • New staff induction training
  • Refresher training for existing operators
  • Onsite training at your premises
  • Training at our Germiston base where suitable

What the Training Covers

Training is practical and focused on the work your team handles each day. We explain the flatbed UV process in plain terms, from file check and media preparation through to printing, curing, finishing and stacking. The aim is to reduce waste, avoid avoidable stoppages and help your operators work with more confidence.

We can also cover the parts of the workflow that often cause trouble in busy print rooms, such as board alignment, handling dust on rigid media, and checking that each job is ready before it goes into production.

  • Machine start-up and shutdown routine
  • Board loading and placement checks
  • Ink handling and basic safety
  • Print queue planning and job handover

Training for Rigid Boards and Signage Jobs

Flatbed UV printing is often used for rigid boards, display panels, signage, point of sale pieces and short-run promotional work. Because these jobs vary in size, material and finish, operators need to understand how each substrate behaves and what can go wrong if the setup is rushed. We show your team how to prepare common media, test new material and spot issues before a full run starts.

This is especially useful for businesses working in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town and Gqeberha, where climate, dust, coastal humidity and load-shedding can all affect production. Small changes in storage or handling can make a big difference to print quality.

  • Board surface checks before printing
  • Media testing for new jobs
  • Basic colour guidance for repeat work
  • Storage and handling tips for local conditions

What to Prepare Before the Session

A little preparation makes the session more useful. If possible, have a list of the jobs your team prints most often, the media you keep in stock, and any faults that keep coming back. It also helps if your operators can show us sample prints that look off in colour, adhesion or finish.

If the training is onsite, make sure the work area is clear and that the operators who use the machine daily are present for the full session. If you want us to focus on a specific process, mention it when sending the request so we can plan the time properly.

  • List of common job types
  • Samples of problem prints
  • Media currently in use
  • Names of staff who need training

Onsite Training Across South Africa

We provide training in Germiston and across South Africa, with support for Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, Gqeberha, East Rand and Centurion. Onsite training is useful when the team needs to work on the same machine they use every day, especially where there is a full production schedule and limited time for downtime.

For some teams, a split approach works better. We can cover the basics in one session and then return later for a refresher once the operators have had time to practise. That way questions are more specific and the session stays practical.

After Training: Support That Stays Useful

Training does not end when the session is finished. If your team needs help later, we can assist with workflow planning, colour guidance, media testing, ink handling help and preventive maintenance. If an issue comes up after the training, our support team can step in by phone through the enquiry form process and help work through the next step.

We also help with operator handover when staff change, so the machine does not end up depending on one person only. That keeps production steadier and makes it easier for your team to manage busy periods and unexpected absences, which is important in smaller print rooms.

  • Refresher sessions for new shifts
  • Production consulting for busy teams
  • Breakdown support where needed
  • Remote support for quicker troubleshooting
